This morning the promised rain came. We had just our breakfast when the heavy clouds rolled from somewhere Ålandīs direction. Few lightnings and couple of thunders but it wasnīt a real thunderstorm. Wind was quite fresh but it didnīt make real waves. Sea looked same as it has been looking in these moderate windy days. Rain lasted about an hour or so and soon the cliffs steamed in the sunshine.

Seals have been on and off that little rock on the western side of Märket. We thought they would disappear because of the visitor traffic but no. There they lie in a bunch, 3-4 in same time. One seal came to see whatīs the situation on Märketīs northern side and if the cliffs are ok to come and have some sunbathing. Obviously not because the head disappeared quickly after noticing the lurking camera.

Sirpa observed today a new plant in this island. We donīt know what it is. Itīs pretty and we hope it blooms here long.

As soon as the sun began to shine and the wind almost died we got seven visitors from Sweden. Tuija took them to tour and as always the quests are fascinated about this unique place. The borderline in this island is one of the funniest things because of itīs shape and this time the effect was the same as always: quests laughed when they saw it.

In the afternoon we saw fog coming from the sea. Soon it floated over the rocks and horizont disappeared. It wasnīt very heavy fog, we didnīt got lost in this island at all.

Johanna and Ari continued the heavy duty work and moved the metal trash heap from one place to another. It situated in a difficult place considering the plastering work that had to be continued soon. Yesterday they made 4 benches so now hereīs plenty of room to sit outside.

Tomorrow we will bake and welcome the new crew and 12 german journalists with fresh rolls. Itīs change of shift and itīs our time to go home. This has been an amazing week. Spending time here in the middle of nowhere and still middle of everything has been a dream coming true. Working together with great people and getting experience of many things are something to remember when snowstorm is raging outside.

This is something we donīt forget, ever.

Crew Johanna, Ari, Sirpa and Tuija signing over and out.
