Today we have really overdone it! Eating I mean. The day started with a gourmet style breakfast. In addition to the “normal” porridge, sandwiches and tea and coffee, we had a restaurant style omelet.

With salmon soup for lunch and an Italian pasta for dinner one would have thought that it would have been enough. But no, Soile had made us a fruit desert served with a chocolate sauce to die for.

Pasi licked the fruit bowl and Heikki scooped out all the chocolate he could. Soile also had time to take quite a few nice pictures some of which are shown here.

Work continued in the magazine and it is slowly starting to look quite organized. Pasi also started working on a piece of scaffolding for the mast where our wind turbine is. It will be used in a few weeks, when repairs on the turbine will start.

To prepare for this work, Heikki climbed up to the top of the mast to take up the safety rope and to take down the base of the broken tail.

Occupational safety officers would have been proud! Heikki was using the safety harness and had at least one safety hook attached at all times. Bye the way, the view from up there is phenomenal. This is how monkeys view the world – we should be jealous.

Washing the dishes is one of the important daily routines. Today Henna got some assistance from a large furry bee. It had probably mistaken the yellow color of the latex gloves for a flower or maybe the honeycomb texture for something very important for bees. Did it really help get the dishes done? No, but it did make it more fun.

And then the science part... After a long debate on the temperature of the seawater, we took out a thermometer and conducted hydrological studies.

These measurements were controlled by empirical tests, which verified that although the water is not warm yet, humans can survive short exposures.

Soile took a nice dip in the pond(+ 8,6 celsius) and Pasi a very short one in the Golf of Botnia (+ 3,3 celsius). Both returned very refreshed.

The day temperature was around 10 degrees and it cools down to about 4 degrees during the night. This means that the ovens are and will be in use for days to come. Thanks to the ovens, it is warm enough inside. Not too hot though...

And the artistic picture of the day. Please admire the contrast between the form straight line in the bottom left corner and the living movement of the line above it. What a shot Soile.
