Two minutes after sending the daily report yesterday, I happened to look out of the window. The one you saw in the report. A rainbow – no, two rainbows! And one end appeared to start just meters from the old harbor. And the other dropped into the sea maybe a mile off.

I have never seen a rainbow as bright and clear as this one. There was a lot of shouting in the staircase as we wanted to make sure everyone is aware of this heavenly event. We were all out in the rain but it was worth it! And once again we took pictures. Pretty good ones, I think.

You must all have heard the story about the treasure, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Just open the door and find out if it is true...

As you might have guessed by the fact that I am still writing this report today, we did not get off the island as planned. The weather forecast was accurate and the wind did turn to the north and at the same time it picked up a little bit of speed. Some 13 m/s at the time we should have boarded the boat and the waves churning in the harbor.

It would have been impossible to get the boat tied to the rocks or to safely take out the rubberboat. So our watch has (at least) one extra day here on the island. At the moment we plan/hope/guess that we might be off tomorrow sometime in the afternoon. We will see. Safety gets first priority anyway.

As the wind was quite strong and from the north, the waves broke on the rocks all day. High “geysirs” sprang out of the rocks along the sea and covered most of the island with their spray.

As a matter of fact, the island was suddenly divided into three separate islands with small creeks or rivers flowing from the north side of the island to the south side. We have even had a small waterfall for most of the day.

With the sun coming out in the afternoon the view was quite stunning especially for the girls, who are both here for the first time.

Now some good news for all those of you who have been planning to enjoy the two “swimming pools” on the island. After yesterdays success in cleaning the rainwater tank we decided to continue on the same track.

Both pools are now emptied of any stale water and even the bottoms have been given a good rinse. I admit that we did use nature to our advantage but the outcome is that they are now ready for all of you to enjoy.

The lagoon is now clean!

By the way, the banana was used in a delicious banana-cake. Yummy!
